Family Programming & Cultural Events

Every year we bring in at least one Jewish musician to Blacksburg. Recent performers have included Marimba artist Larissa Venzie, Alicia Jo Rabins and Aaron Hartman of Girls in Trouble, and comedian Keith Barany. We have annual parties for Purim and Hanukkah. We also cosponsor special events with Virginia Tech Hillel.

Family Programs:

We plan more than 10 family-friendly events each year to celebrate the major Jewish holidays, learn more about our culture and religion, and socialize. Events include youth-led Shabbat services, children’s services for the high holidays, Simchat Torah, Purim carnivals, Sukkot celebrations, Havdalah services, among other activities.

Family programs are free for members and open to nonmembers. The suggested donation is $72 for all events.
